The straps on these Marni Fussbett sandals were tearing at the seams on all sides, with one of the straps having come apart entirely. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis / quote, we offered to repair the affected straps as well as reinforce them against further damage.

Strap repair and reinforcement

We cut pieces of similarly coloured leather, carefully shaping them to match the shape of the existing straps. We glued these leather patches into place alongside the straps in their correct positions, and then re-stitched all the seams. The leather patches were discrete and not at all conspicuous but they performed the important function of carrying much of the weight that was otherwise falling on the weakened seams.
