SoleHeeled offers convenient and affordable Oroton handbag repairs by Australia’s best craftsmen, with free shipping to your door. This case study outlines how we recently repaired a customer’s Oroton handbag.
The handbag
This Oroton Metier Worker Tote handbag had torn on one of the corners around the bottom of the bag. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to repair the torn corner by installing an interior patch to seal up the tear and reinforce the area.
Leather tear repair
We started off by cutting a piece of leather large enough to cover the tear and about an inch of leather on all sides. We then glued down the leather on either side of the tear onto this patch and then stitched the leather panels back together. We used multiple stitch lines to reinforce the stitching, and the patch on the interior of the bag functioned to not only allow us to seal up the tear but also reinforce the area by taking on a lot of the pressure the bag was previously carrying on that corner.
