The shoes
These Gucci Jordaan loafers had been previously colour restored with materials that left the leather looking dull and discoloured in places where the colour hadn’t fully set and so eventually rubbed off. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to clean and condition the leather uppers before custom mixing a colour based on the existing and using that to recolour / refinish the leather.
Leather cleaning and conditioning
We started off by carefully stripping the leather of its old colour, and then cleaning and conditioning the leather, firstly to remove any surface dirt and impurities, and secondly to ensure the leather was able to fully absorb the new colour we’d be applying to it.
Leather colour restoration
We then custom mixed a colour to match the colour of the shoes and used that to recolour / refinish the leather uppers. In doing this, we used a dye that works best with the calf leather used by Gucci on these shoes. The end result show the leather looking healthier, with a noticeable glow that does justice to the elegance of these shoes, and dyed with a colour that is fully set and won’t simply rub off over time.
