The heel blocks on these Christian Louboutin patent leather Kate 85 heels had seen better days, with the leather torn and loose, and the heel tips entirely missing. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote we offered to repair the heel blocks and replace the heel tips.
Heel block repair
While the heel blocks on these shoes were heavily damaged and the metal rods were exposed in some places, none of the leather itself was missing. So we were able to repair the heel blocks by carefully stretching out and glueing down the loose leather as cleanly as possible.
While re-wrapping heel blocks with entirely new leather is always an option, perfectly matching leathers — especially patent leathers like that on these shoes — is often difficult or impossible, and so repairing the existing leather in this case allowed us to retain the original nude patent finish on the heel blocks.
Heel tip replacement
We pulled away small pieces that remained from the old heel tips and installed an entirely new pair of nude rubber heel tips like the originals.
