SoleHeeled offers convenient and affordable Yves Saint Laurent bag repairs by Australia’s best craftsmen, with free shipping to your door. This case study outlines how we recently repaired a customer’s YSL bag.
The bag
A leather loop at one end of the handle on this Yves Saint Laurent Large College Bag had torn, leaving the handle unusable. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote we offered to repair and reinforce the leather loop.
Handle repair
We began by undoing the torn leather loop, creating a clean cut on the underside. We then neatened the torn leather, removing any fraying leather and cleaning away the debris before wrapping the outside of the loop with a new piece of black leather — for reinforcement. We finally re-waxed the edges of the leather loop as cleanly as possible, to ensure that the leather would not soon wear away around the sides.
