The shoes
These Christian Louboutin Culturella pumps juxtapose the brand’s trademark elegant silhouette with the fierceness of the spikes around the toes, leaving the wearer feeling and looking both strong and sexy at the same time. But all was lost when the leather around one of the heel blocks and some of the leather just above the heel blocks (on the upper part of the right shoe) was severely mangled. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to rewrap the damaged heel blocks, covering them with new leather.
Heel block re-covering / rewrapping
We took the following steps to repair the heel blocks:
We carefully peeled back the red leather on the inner side of each heel block, which had been pulled away but was not severely torn or otherwise damaged.
We removed each of the heel blocks and carefully removed the black leather around the back of each heel block.
We cut a fresh piece of premium black leather to match the size of the heel blocks and carefully glued the leather into place.
We then reattached the heel blocks.
Heel tips replacement
We removed the old heel tips and replaced them with a pair of high-quality rubber heel tips.
Leather tear repair
We also ended up repairing the torn leather just above the heel block, on the body of the right shoe. Because this leather forms part of the core of the shoe and cannot be replaced, we had to use a leather filler to seal up the gaps and reinforce the area. Once the filler had set, we smoothed out and refinished / recoloured the area to blend everything in as much as possible.
