The wallet

This Hermès Bearn wallet was in reasonably good shape after years of wear, but in need of a freshening up. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, indicating that she would like to change the colour of the wallet, we offered to clean and condition the leather throughout the wallet before re-dyeing the exterior leather to black — leaving a unique contrast between the red on the interior and the black on the exterior.

Leather cleaning, conditioning and recolouring

We started off by cleaning and conditioning the leather throughout the wallet to remove accumulated impurities on the surface as well as nourish the leather and prep it for the re-dye. We then carefully dyed the leather to black with multiple coats applied and a final coat of a waterproofing / stain protection agent to help seal in the new colour.
