SoleHeeled offers convenient and affordable Chanel bag repairs by Australia’s best craftsmen, with free shipping to your door. This case study outlines how we recently repaired a customer’s Chanel bag.
The bag
This Chanel denim quilted bag was structurally holding up well, but nevertheless looking old and worn due to extensive dye transfer stains from blue jeans. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to clean throughout the bag and specially treat the stains.
Cleaning and stain treatment
Our first step was to thoroughly clean the bag with a fabric cleaning agent, to clear the surface of any dirt and debris. Following this, we applied a specialist dye transfer stain treating agent to those areas affected by stains — namely, the back of the bag and the fabric woven through the chain strap. In doing so, we were careful to treat the stains too excessively or rub abrasively on the fabric, as doing so could end up causing further damage. In the end, we were able to significantly reduce the dye transfer stains around the bag.
