The bag

The piping on one of the corners of this Gucci Soho disco bag was torn, with the outer layer of leather worn through. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to repair and reinforce the piping by covering the damaged area with a thin leather patch.

Piping repair

We start off by undoing the lining and unstitching the seams on either side of the piping around the affected corner. This gives us an opening to slip through a thin piece of leather long and wide enough to cover and wrap around the damaged piping. Having glued the leather patch in place, we proceeded to stitched the seams back together and re-seal the lining.
