The loafers

The soles on these Ferragamo loafers were heavily worn, with some of the rubber pieces cracked and broken. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to perform a full resole, replacing the soles with an entirely new pair of rubber soles.

Full resole

We started by removing the damaged rubber from the base of the shoes. We then cleaned the base of the shoe of the old glue and accumulated dirt / debris and stitched thin strips of leather into place in those areas where the original soles had climbed up the sides of the shoes. We finally stitched into place a pair of Goodyear boat shoe soles. These new soles look different to the original soles, but their construction (being made from a single piece of rubber and stitched firmly into the footbeds) makes them significantly more durable.
