These Fear of God high-top sneakers were in near new condition except for a substantial tear in the leather on the right shoe. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis / quote, we offered to repair the torn leather by installing a black leather patch to seal up the tear and reinforce the area — and do this on both shoes in the pair for consistency.

Tear repair

We started off by stitching the torn beige leather back into place along the outside of the shoe and glueing down the loose padded leather around the interior. We then cut and installed a black leather patch that matched the existing black and was large enough to cover the length of the tear and any misaligned leather left from the stitching as well as reinforce the leather from re-tearing. Finally, we installed an identical patch on the second, unaffected shoe so the two shoes matched each other.
