The shoes
These leather around the heel blocks of these Aquazzurra Forever Marilyn pumps was torn, and the leather soles were noticeably worn. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to repair the leather around the heel blocks and to repair and protect the leather soles.
Heel block repair
Although the leather on one of the heel blocks was torn, fortunately none of the leather was missing. Because of this, we were able to repair the loose leather by carefully stretching it out and glueing it down into position. Outlines of the tears remained visible to a degree, but this work reduced their visibility and helped to prevent further wear around the loose leather.
While re-wrapping the heel blocks with entirely new leather would have been an option here, the leather in this case was only lightly damaged — such that removing and replacing the leather posed unnecessary risk and would have involved unnecessary expense.
Sole protector installation
We carefully sanded the front half of the soles, creating a bed for the protectors to be installed in order to sit flush with the rest of the original soles further down. We then installed a pair of premium, Italian-made rubber sole protectors with a glossy finish and lighter pink colour.
