We cleaned the shoes, inside and out, to remove all traces of dirt, before proceeding to condition the leather so as to get it looking and feeling fresh and supple. Calfskin leather in particular should be regularly conditioned in order to avoid having the leather become dry and crack/tear with age and even protect the leather from stains and water damage — this means applying conditioner about once every couple of months. Leather recolouring
With a clean and conditioned leather base, we custom mixed a colour to match the original colour of the shoes before polishing out the scuffs and scratches and recolouring the areas affected by discolouration.
